Miles to go before I sleep

I.                    Time is short, Look at Israel and the rest of the world, violence and hatred throughout the world, cheating and dishonesty in the elected officials, Jesus said look to the signs of the times.

The signs of the times

1.  Gal 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

KJV

That is powerful!  Jesus tells us that these sins that I have mentioned will not enter in the kingdom of Heaven.  I will try to explain them.  1.  Adultery- The act of cheating on your wife, and Jesus told us that if you look on another you have committed this in your heart!  Now if you go after Idols and the world are you not doing the same to your bridegroom that you are bethroed to? Think about it.

2.      Fornication- having sexual relations outside of marriage, this includes anything that arouses certain expectations that cannot be fulfilled. I.e. pornography, heavy petting…

3.      uncleanness- sexual sins, evil deeds, and vices including the thoughts of the heart.

4.       lasciviousness-, Undisciplined and unrestrained behavior, especially a flagrant disregard of sexual restraints The Greek word translated as licentiousness means "outrageous conduct," showing that licentious behavior goes beyond sin to include a disregard for what is right.

5.      Idolatry- Idolatry may be classified as follows: (1) the worship of inanimate objects, such as stones, trees, rivers, etc.; (2) of animals; (3) of the higher powers of nature, such as the sun, moon, stars; and the forces of nature, as air, fire, etc.; (4) hero-worship or of deceased ancestors

6.      Witchcraft.- The practice of witchcraft, or divination, was a means for extracting information or guidance from a pagan god.

7.      hatred- intense extreme dislike

8.      Variance- Quarreling, antagonism a struggle for superiority.

9.      emulations- resentfulness, envying others success.

10.  wrath- explosive anger or rage

11.  strife- selfish ambitions, and seeking of power.

12.  seditions- introducing divisive teachings designed to tear apart a body and is not supported by the word of God.

13.  Heresies – division in the church into selfish groups or cliques, which will destroy a church.

14.  envying- resentful dislike of another who has something that you lust after.

15.  murders- to kill a person

16.  drunkenness- impairing ones mental or physical control by alcoholic drink.

17.  revel lings- excessive feasting, revelry, party spirit involving drugs sex ect.

Let us have a look at what the world is like now,  every ware you look in the paper you will see someone has been cheating and sleeping with some one else. This is not only tolerated but glorified!  You have the President of the USA getting caught cheating on his wife but that is not the problem with the country it is rather the fact that he lied and that is what he is sorry for not what he did!.  What has happened to the country?  You have people getting killed for their sexual orientation and for religious beliefs.  Churches that allow homosexuals to not only get married in church but also to preach.  God help us please.

2.      This brings me to my next topic. as it was in the days of Noah.

a.       I was watching television recently and I saw south park on tv.  I was shocked to see a episode where the devil  and Jesus were going to have a boxing match and everyone bet against Jesus.  It was disgusting!

3.      As it was in the day of Noah:

A.  Luke 17:26-30

26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

B.     Lots of work to be done.

1.      The harvest is ripe.

2.      God is building a Army. – my vision.

3.      The fields are white and the workers are few.

4.      no time to waste.- Jamies vision

a.  (Mat 9:37 KJV)  Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

(Mat 9:38 KJV)  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

(Eph 5:16 KJV)  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

(Col 4:5 KJV)  Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

III.               Power to do work.- power limited to as God sees fit.

1.      1411. dunamis, doo'-nam-is; from G1410; force (lit. or fig.); spec. miraculous power (usually by impl. a miracle itself):--ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.

   III.           Unlimited power to spread the Gospel!

2.       1849. exousia, ex-oo-see'-ah; from G1832 (in the sense of ability); privilege, i.e. (subj.) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (obj.) mastery (concr. magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence:--authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength.

a.  Luke 9:1  Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

The awesome thing about this is that this happened before Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.  This showed that God gave us the power to defeat the enemy, and then after the baptism of the Holy Spirit we have the power to have victory.

b.      Holy Spirit signs and wonders.

12    Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

4        God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

   c.  Armor of God-11 Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13  Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17    And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

IV.              Repentance:

A.    Before every move of God there must be repentance!

 B.   Personal cleansing a must!

1.      (James 1:8 KJV)  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

2.      (James 4:8 KJV)  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

I have touched very briefly on the weapons that we have in Christ and what we are to do with them.  As the time gets shorter and it is, we need to double our efforts in waging war.  The enemy is not slacking off, he is not demanding a recount he is not taking a vacation from the fight.  Neither should we.  Remember that we are more than conquers through Jesus Christ!  Never turn your back on the enemy, Never surrender because the war is already won.

Remember to be prayed up and to keep the armor on, in these final days the enemy is coming very quickly against this body.  He will try to destroy it but he will be happy to make it sick that is all he needs to do.  In war it is better to incapacitate the enemy than to kill him, remember that it take 2 to tend to a sick or wounded soldier and none if he is dead!  So watch not only your back but your brothers also.  Be encouraged Jesus is coming very soon, look up your redemption draws nigh.
