Lucy-Fur, Lion or kittycat.

This is a topic that the body of Christ needs to understand.  What should we really see the devil like and his plans.  People throughout history have seen him as a strong and powerful enemy of God.  He would have us believe that he is God’s equal.  But that is not the case and I will show you why.

Isaiah 14:12-17  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Satan was created as a Cherubim, he was the greatest of the created beings.  He was created beautiful and powerful.  He was designed to minister to God all of the time. He is the most beautiful, most intelligent and the most powerful of God creation.  But that was his undoing. 

As scripture tells us, Satan rebelled against God and believed that he was equal to God.  He says that he will make himself “as” God.  That is very important.

1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1.   The reason that this is so important is that just as he wanted to make himself equal with God, he is trying to do this with Jesus.

Jesus is the Lion of Judah, he is all powerful.  Now the enemy walks around roaring and making a lot of noise.  Satan has no teeth because Jesus took care of this when he went to hell.  Now he still has his claws and that is dangerous but he can to kill you with them just scratch you up a little. 

The church needs to get this revelation of what the enemy is really like, as I showed you there will come a day where God will show satan for what he really is and the word will laugh at him.   Remember that if you are Jesus’ then the enemy has no ability to attack you unless God gives him the authority.   

2.   Another thing is that you have to realize that what you are probably being attacked by is not Satan but a demon.  Remember that only God is Omnipresent and Omniscient.   That means that he is everywhere and knows everything.  The enemy is finite in his ability and limited.  He did take 1/3 of the angels with him but God has 2/3 plus knows what you are thinking and is there.  The enemy can not read your mind and can not be there all of the time. 

So lets see, what we have here is a beaten, finite, looser that had the ultimate audacity to try to attack and over throw his creator.  This is the smartest being ever and he tried this. 

It is amazing that God loves us.  We are prideful and arrogant and we have the audacity to basically spit in Gods face.  He has saved us and washed us and protects us.  Jesus said that he wanted to gather his people under his wings and yet we disobey.  God is your father; he has sealed us and protects us.  He loves us when we disobey and he said that he would never abandon us.  That is powerful.  

So think of this next time the enemy tries to make a racket, like a alley cat, knocking over trashcans.  He sounds tough and he can make a disturbance, but that is about it. 

Now don’t get me wrong he is still as intelligent as he has ever been.  Much more than we are, and he can manipulate us if we are not under the blood. 

The enemy comes after those who are threats to him, He knows us better than we know ourselves.  Remember that he comes as an angel of light.  So do not be deceived when he comes trying to pass himself as this mighty power.  I see a parallel between David and Goliath in this.  David the little Shepard boy who seemingly is no threat to Goliath of Goth.  What possible danger could he be, yet with one little stone he brought down the giant?  Well Satan would have you believe that he is this giant and we are little, God uses the insignificant things of this world to confound the mighty. 

Satan will through an obstacle against you, he will say why don’t you just give up and die.  There is no way to win and you are week and small and I am great and powerful.  Does this sound familiar?  That mountain is a mirage a illusion that he is trying to get you to see.  Remember that he is the father of lies.

Let me give you this way to defeat the enemy.  He will come to you and say that you are not saved and that there is no way for God to love you.  Well just remember this, which he is a liar and he can not tell the truth for it is not in him.  So if he tells you that you are not saved and there is not any way for you then rejoice because if he is a liar then that means that you are saved and God is using you.  That is what stopped me from questioning my salvation.

Let’s look at another way to see this, take a look at the Lion King.  This is the tale of 2 lions.  The first one is Scar, the old power-hungry Lion.  He would be king he aspired to be king, but there was Simba the King the young Lion.  Scar is a beaten toothless Lion.

However he tries to kill Simba but he is defeated in the end.  Well this is the way satan tried to do with Jesus.

Let’s remember that Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.  Also Jesus has already won so what are we afraid of? 

I also want to mention the fact that another trick of the devil is to make you forget the promise or the dream.

Genesis 37:5-11 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, what is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

He told his family of the dream that God had given him.  You remember that I said that the devil can not read your thoughts, well when he let the cat out of the bag he gave the enemy allot of power that he would not have had.  Satan tried to make him forget the dream well that is what he tries with us.  On the First day there was death, the savior was put to death.  The disciples knew the promise, yet they doubted.  Then came Saturday, the 2^nd day, all seemed lost.  Then came the 3^rd day and with it life.  Now if we get thru the 2^nd day we will see the promise.  However, the enemy wants to keep us in the 2^nd day, you know the day where you lay around and get sun or watch TV and don’t really do anything.  That is his plan. 

How do we defeat this?  Remember what we have learned up to now, that he is all bark and no bite. No pun intended.  Hold on to the promise of God, and when the time is right you tell people but not until then.  There have been times in my life where God had given me a promise and instead of waiting on it I rushed headlong where angels fear to tread.  The enemy immediately came after me.  So be not dismayed the enemy is limited in his power and he can only do what the Father wants for his glory.

His time is short, and he is going around now trying to kill and destroy all that he can, what he wants is to discourage you and make you weak and ineffective, since he can not have your soul.  So keep your faith and keep on your amour, submit your plans to the Lord and resist the devil and he will flee.
