WHAT
KIND OF FRUIT ARE YOU?

WHAT
KIND OF FRUIT ARE YOU?
I want to start by saying that as Christians we are a bowl of cereal. The world sees Christians as a bunch of fruits, nuts and flakes. We are all lumped together and we have the milk of the word poured over us. And we either become crisp and crunchy or limp and soggy. What do you want to be?
Being a child of God is not a
easy life sometimes. The very same
sun that causes the grass to grow also bakes the earth.
Remember that God is not the only one that can see you are of the King.
Satan can also and he will turn up the heat.
Now when the heat is turned up
there are a couple of things that can happen.
1.
It can be as gold being purified and burning out the impurities.
This is if you are walking with God and you are plugged in to the stream
of living water.
2.
The heat can dry you out, when I was in the desert in Texas and in the
Arabian Gulf, I had to drink quarts
of water so as not to dehydrate. I
was in 150 degree weather and I sweated so much that I chugged water and it did
not slack my thirst and I got a headache. This
is the same situation that spiritually can happen when you backslide or walk
away from God. The enemy turns up
the heat slowly so you do not see it coming.
Just as a frog thrown in boiling water will jump out and if you take and
put him in cool water and slowly turn it up then he will boil alive.
That is what the enemy is doing to you friend.
Well back to the analogy. As
the sun is baking you and you do not have the water you will dry out and become
at first a raisin. This is still a
good fruit it is sweet and good for you, but it is very small and can not be
used for a lot. Remember that
commercial that takes “2 scoops” that
is because it takes twice as much to do the same job.
God tells us about this about the backslidden condition.
He says in the word…
Rev 3:15-18
15 I know thy works, that thou
art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art
lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am
rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that
thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me
gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou
mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint
thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
KJV .
That is a bad image, that is
the last thing that I want is to be spued out of Gods mouth, think about it.
Now there is one other kind of
fruit to look at here, it is a prune. It
is very similar to the others but it is very sour and not pleasant. That is a legalistic type person that if it is not done
just the way I like it then it is not of God.
The bible tells us that which does not gather scatters.
Repent of this.
Now lets take another example.
How many here have lived near a swamp?
I used to live near the Okeefanoke.
It has a powerful spiritual message in it.
A swamp is nothing but a bunch of stagnant putrid decaying water.
Now lets have a look at what lives in a swamp.
Snakes and
alligators and bugs and frogs. Now
what is Satan a snake, and demons in the bible were listed as frogs.
Do you see a trend here? A
swamp has no fresh water running through it.
That is why it is stagnant and putrid.
If you take the swamp and introduce a stream of running water then the
life returns to it and the snakes leave. That
is exactly the way we are. If you
are backslidden and not right with God then the Holy Spirit dries up in your
life. Slowly at first then more as
you grieve Him. As this happens,
your spirit start to die and decay. You
become a foul stench and the only ones that will come to you will be the demons
and the devil.
Now if you repent and come back
to Christ then this will allow the Holy Spirit to come back to your life. Streams of Living Water come in and break up the slime and
the sludge that have accumulated in your heart.
That is why the bible teaches to resist the devil and he will flee.
So I ask are you a dried up
raisin, a sweet grape or are you a dried up prune that is good for nothing but
being sour.
Come back to Christ and he will restore the years that the canker work has stolen, and he will restore that the thief has taken. Remember that there is no room for gray with Christ, either you are for him or you against him. He is coming very soon for his bride and a bride only wears pure white. When you come to Christ he washes you that white. But when you sin you take filth and throw it on the clothes. You ever notice that you can take a pig or a dog or any animal and wash it and it smells good and clean and it will go and roll in the mud again. Well that is the way we are when we take the gift that God gave us and turn back to the sins. Do you want to have the bride groom find you ready or do you want to be getting washed up and miss him? It is so easy to come back to Christ. There is not condemnation for those in Christ. God is waiting with his arms open. Just walk to him he will run to you.
God Bless
